Startracker 70/900 NG Refractor Telescope
The StarTracker 70/900 NG is a beginner telescope that works equally well for astronomy and daytime terrestrial viewing. The 70mm objective and 900mm focal length make it a capable lunar and planetary instrument, while the erecting image diagonal means objects appear correctly oriented whether you are looking at the moon or a distant landscape.
The three included Kellner eyepieces (25mm, 10mm, and 4mm) take you from 36x wide-field views up to 225x for closer work on the moon and planets. The long f/12.8 focal ratio keeps images sharp and high-contrast at the eyepiece, which is where it counts for beginners.
What sets this apart from basic starter scopes is the NG mount, which works as both an altazimuth and a polar-wedge equatorial. For daytime use, the altazimuth is intuitive. For night sky work, a single thumb knob tilts it into equatorial mode, letting you track objects with one slow-motion control instead of two. The full-size aluminium tripod adjusts in height, making it comfortable for younger observers as well.
What you can realistically observe: Moon craters, Saturn's rings, Jupiter's cloud bands and moons, double stars, open clusters, and bright objects like the Orion Nebula.
